On Friday it was revealed that a Road Service worker had approached while working in Creggan and was told he had five minutes to leave.
Councillor Campbell said: “I welcomed the news that Roads service have confirmed they are satisfied there is no ongoing threat and services will be resumed.
“Obviously the restoration of services is to be welcomed.
“But this threat should never have been issued in the first place.
“The people of Creggan should not have had to deal with the withdrawal of key services as a result,” he added.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “We do not discuss the security of individuals and no inference should be drawn from this.”
“However, if police receive information that a person’s life may be at risk, we will inform them accordingly.
“We never ignore anything which may put an individual at risk.”
