She said: “We have been engaging with the Housing Executive (HE) over many months on behalf of the residents in the Hazelbank area who have raised numerous complaints with us in regard to their homes.
“It was very clear the external appearance of many homes had suffered as a result of long exposure to the elements and residents are entitled to expect that the properties are kept adequately maintained.
“I will be working with residents and the H.E to ensure that the work is carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
