The latest search for Strabane GP Deirdre O’Flaherty was sparked following information given to Gardaí by a member of the public.
O’Flaherty was reported missing on the 11th January 2009 at Moville.
The search was carried out by members of the Donegal Divisional Search Team and Garda Technical Bureau along with private contractors on rocky land beside wind turbines.
Gardaí, who carried out a land search and excavation in the Milford District, have now confirmed that nothing was located during the search which had been due to last five days.
In a statement, An Garda Siochana said: “Unfortunately nothing that furthers the search for Deirdre was located during the search.
“The site is on private property and remains closed to the public.
“Today, is also the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Deirdre.
“Our thoughts are with her family and friends and it is requested that the privacy of her family is respected at this time.
“Gardaí have renewed their appeal for anyone who may have information in relation to Deirdre’s disappearance to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 0749320540 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.”
