THE SDLP’s Mark H Durkan has urged people to attend the NI Environment Agency’s public meeting on the environmental management of the Mobuoy illegal waste site.
Said the Foyle MLA: “I would urge everyone in this city and surrounding areas to attend next Wednesday’s public meeting on Mobuoy illegal dump.
“It is a chance to have your concerns heard and to demand action on this vital issue.
!It is imperative that this environmental hazard is dealt with as a matter of urgency- in a manner which poses the least risk to the environment, our water supply and subsequently people’s health.
“This site is a ticking time bomb and action needs to be taken before a huge environmental crime becomes an even bigger environmental crisis.”
The public meeting will take place Wednesday March 6, at 7.30 pm in Drumahoe Primary School.
