DETECTIVES investigating a report of the theft of tools and the hijacking of a vehicle in the Derry area have charged a 26 year old man with a number of offences.#
They include common assault, driving whilst unfit and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
The incident happened last nigh Monday, March 4.
He is due to appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on Wednesday 6th March.
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
During the incident, the PSNI in Derry and Gardai in Donegal were involved in trying to stop the stolen vehicle but failed to stop on a number of occasions.
Four males were subsequently arrested in the two jurisdictions.
A 35 year old man had previously been charged in relation to this incident and faced Derry Magistrates’ Court earlier today, Tuesday, March 5.
Two further men were arrested by An Garda Siochana over the border in Donegal.
