The party’s education spokesperson said: “I’d like to congratulate all those who were nominated for and received awards at today’s inaugural OCN Recognising Learning Endeavour awards.
“I would also like to congratulate the organisers on an important first event to recognise learners and trainers.
“Great work goes on in our communities in respect of learning and training with very dedicated and committed trainers and learners.
“Recognising the accomplishments of those who achieve, and those who help, and support others achieve, is vital but we must also recognise the barriers that some individuals have to overcome to achieve.
“Part time, community and adult learning are important to so many.
“More joined-up pathways through learning and training, and better partnership working of providers is more important than ever in the changing landscape that we now face in our working lives.”
