SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood has welcomed the progress made by the European Commission and the British Government to produce a deal.
The SDLP is hopeful that the deal will pass through the House of Commons this evening.
However, the DUP, who have ten MPs, and Tory Eurosceptics in the European Research Group (ERG), are expected to vote against the latest deal.
The vote is expected this evening in the House of Commons around 7 pm.
Mr Eastwood added that seeing this deal through Parliament is in the best interests of all our people.
The Foyle MLA said: “We welcome the progress the European commission and the British Government have made on the withdrawal agreement.
“The SDLP welcomes the continued protection for the Backstop and the recommitment to avoiding a hard border in Ireland.
“We are hopeful that the deal passes tonight to ensure exiting without a deal is avoided.”
