Sinn Fein Waterside representative Sharon McLaughlin
The man, who was in his 80s, was struck by a car on Thursday night, March 14, on Crescent Link.
He was rushed to Altnagelvin Hospital but tragically he lost his battle for life.
Said Sharon McLaughlin: “The local community is in shock following the news of the death of a man on the Crescent Link.
“Any death on our roads is one too many and a tragedy for all those involved.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult and sad time.”
