To date, almost £2,900 has been raised by 171 people for her partner Sara Canning and Lyra’s family as they make preparations for her funeral in the coming days.
The 29-year-old died after being shot during a night of clashes in which petrol bombs were thrown and vehicles hijacked.
The victim was rushed by police landrover to Altnagelvin Hospital but tragically died of her injuries.
Police chiefs blamed dissident republicans for murdering Ms McKee.
On Saturday morning detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team revealed that two teenagers, aged 18 and 19, were arrested in Derry this morning under section 41 of the Terrorism Act for questioning about Lyra’s murder.
Following Lyra’s tragic death, a JustGiving page was set up to help raise money for her family.
There has been a huge outpouring of generosity so far on the page with at least one person making a donation to the fund
The JustGiving page reads: “The ordinary people of Derry have hearts that are sore today. This brave, intelligent and innocent young woman should not have died here.
“Please show your support and donate.
“Her family must hate Derry and everyone in it right about now.
“Show them this was not in your name.
“Show them that our hearts hurt for their devastating, unjustified and unjustifiable loss.”
