Latest News: Two security alerts in Derry end after ‘non viable devices’ found

POLICE say the security alerts on Insicarn Road and in Harty Court in Derry have now ended.

Suspicious objects discovered in both areas have been examined by ATO who declared them to be non-viable devices.

Derry Daily understands the devices were cans of petrol.

They have now been removed for further examination.

Two other alerts, on Strand Road and in Moss Park remain ongoing at this time.

A 39-year-old man was arrested this morning under the Terrorism Act remains in police custody.
