SDLP councillor Angela Dobbins has topped the poll in the Ballyarnett ward.
She polled 1,392 first preference votes and has now been duly elected.
Also polling well is party colleague and sitting councillor Brian Tierney who has received 1.235 first preference votes.
New SDLP kid on the block Rory Farrell is in third place with 1,170 for first preference votes.
He is hotly followed by local doctor Anne McCloskey of Aontu with 1,032 first reference votes.
The quota to get elected in Ballyarnett is 1,368.
On hearing the news, Mrs Dobbins said: “I am absolutely delighted to have topped the poll in Ballyarnett..over and above quota.”
