AS the counting is underway for Derry City and Strabane District Council, early indications are that the voting is slightly up on the previous election in 2014.
So far, votes cast in four District Electoral Areas have already been counted showing a moderate increase in the turnout at polling stations across the council area.
The total votes polled for Foyleside ward is 7,520 that represents 56.83% turnout.
The total votes polled for Faughan ward is 7,246 that represents a 53.28% turnout.
The total votes polled for Ballyarnett ward is 9,774 which represents a 56.09% turnout
The total votes polled for the Derg ward is 8,120 representing 62.48% turnout.
