SDLP’s Shauna Cusack re-elected to Derry and Strabane Council
The sitting councillor polled 1,129 first preference votes.
She was finally elected on the third count at the Foyle Arena count centre.
Earlier in the day, barrister and SDLP candidate Mary Durkan was the first person to be elected to Derry City and Strabane District Council at the first attempt of standing for election.
However, Sinn Fein Candidate Hayleigh Flemning was eliminated on the third count in Foyleside after polling 632 first preference votes.
