The popular journalist was shot dead by a dissident republican gunman in Creggan on Thursday, April 18, while observing rioting at Fanad Drive.
‘Lyra’s Walk’ will leave Writer’s Square in Belfast at 9 am on Saturday morning, May 25.
People taking part will be walking over the Bank Holiday weekend and it will finish at Guildhall Square in Derry on Monday, May 27 at around 4 pm.
Organisers are expecting several hundred people take part in the walk the first leg of which is due to reach Randalstown on Saturday evening.
On Sunday, the march will make its way towards Dungiven via the main carriageway of the A6.
And on Monday the final leg of the walk will move through Dungiven to Derry.
Police have said they will be in attendance to ensure the safety of the walkers and minimise disruption and motorists are advised to consider this information when planning their journey and all road users should take extra care.
Three people – a 57-year-old woman and two teenagers – were arrested over Lyra’s murder but were later released unconditionally.
Independent charity Crimestoppers has offered a £10,000 reward leading to the arrest and successful conviction of those involved in her barbaric murder.
