SDLP Councillor Martin Reilly is advising the public of disruption to Derry train services this month.
Cllr Martin Reilly commented: “I’ve been made aware of planned temporary Translink rail disruptions between Derry and Coleraine from Monday 10th June to Saturday 29th June, to accommodate ongoing work on the North-West Multi-Modal Transport Hub at the former Waterside Train Station.
“I would advise members of the public who may be using the service next month to be mindful of potential restrictions and if necessary to make alternative arrangements.
“Commuters can check full details of route closures on the Translink website before travelling.
“Hopefully this work can be delivered on time to prevent further disruption to the railway service, which has enjoyed a surge in popularity over the last year.”
He added: “As the Chair of Council’s Environment and Regeneration committee back in the Spring I asked for Translink and the Departmental officials to come to the committee and address us on their plans for the growth of the rail network here.
“This received unanimous support.
“I look forward to hearing from them now once Council business recommences after the elections.”
