POLICE in Derry have visited local schools this week to educate pupils about the dangers of ‘One Punch’ attacks and online safety over fraudulent scams.

Derry has witnessed its fair share of ‘One Punch’ attacks which have sadly left victims either badly injured or fatally wounded.

And there was also information for pupils to hear about staying safe online and prevent being the victim of fraudsters and scams.

The PSNI said it took these messages into the schools in a bid to prevent any further incidents on the streets of the city.

On its Facebook page, PSNI Foyle say: “Waterside CNPT👮🏻‍♀️👮👮🏽 attended a local school and delivered two lessons.

“The first was in regards to One Punch.

“We want to raise awareness of the consequences to students of striking out and potentially causing serious injury or death to others.

“The second was to educate, not only students, but to pass the message to parents and family members👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 about staying safe online💻.

“With an increase in scams this is more important than ever.”
