Durkan welcomes ‘next step’ for Coshquin play park

SDLP Councillor Mary Durkan has welcomed council backing for a play provision in the Coshquin area, at this evening’s meeting of the Environment and Regeneration Committee.

The Foyleside Cllr said: “I am pleased that a play park for Coshquin has received council support and is now one step further to fruition.

“This long-overdue provision, which is twenty-years in the making, will see this neglected area finally receive a play-park to accommodate the growing numbers of young families.

“I have no doubt that residents will be pleased with the exciting new designs and they will have further opportunity to have their say in the next stage of community consultation.

“This park will provide a huge boost for the local community and I hope it will be enjoyed by children and families for many years to come.”
