A 42 year old man arrested in Derry by detectives from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit in relation to the attempted murder of police at the City Walls on July 11, 2018 has been released unconditionally.
He is to be reported to the PPS in relation to a number of fireworks offences seized at Chamberlain Street in October last year.
During trouble in July 2019, police came under fire from dissident republicans at the City Walls.
At least six shots were fired at police from an automatic weapon.
No one was injured but police chiefs at the time said it was being treated as attempted murder of PSNI officers.
