POLICE have seized another dangerous motorbike and its rider is to be reported for a number of motoring offences.
PSNI Foyle say officers on mobile patrol in the Waterside area during the Foyle Cup made the detection of a Honda motorbike.
The detection was made despite police sounding a warning last week that dangerous and noisey bikes found on roads in Derry would be seized and those riding them faced prosecution.
An officer writing on its Facebook page said: “Waterside NP on mobile patrol for the Foyle Cup in the Waterside today observed this motorcycle being ridden in the Nelson Drive area.
“Upon seeing Police the rider wisely stopped his vehicle and having being spoken to at the roadside will be reported for a number of motoring offences.
“The bike has been seized.
“We did say we didn’t want to see illegal and noisy bikes.
“We did say we would seize them.
“We will continue to do this until the message is received.”
