Man to face Derry court accused of breaking into local butcher’s shop
He was arrested following good police work by the PSNI’s Reoffending Unit (ROU), crime scene investigators and local policing teams.
An officer writing on PSNI Foyle’s Facebook page: “It’s hot out there over the past few days and the Reducing Offending Unit are on fire.
“A 36 year old male thought since the weather was so nice he would break into a local butchers in the city.
“Once there he decided not to opt for burgers and sausages, but instead go for the safe and money.
“Not sure how that would taste in a bbq though!
“ROU got to work with planning the arrest and interview party after identifying the male involved!
“LPT, CSI and other departments of course were invited, and the male has today been charged to appear in court tomorrow with Burglary.
“The sausages are safe for another day.”
