FIRST it was a break-in at a butcher’s shop which has landed a male in front of Derry Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing.

Now police in Derry are on the trail of another burglar, this time one who decided to break into a cake shop.

PSNI Foyle say on its Facebook page: “Not only is it the butcher shop but it’s the cake shop too 🧁

“At approx 5 am on July 6, a male broke into Primrose Cafe on Strand Road.

“He left with a sum of money.

“He was wearing a light coloured hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

“If anyone has any information they can ring 101 quoting reference 395 of 06/07/19.

“Help us give this guy his just desserts!”
