Police at the scene of security alert after suspect device found in alleyway

A SUSPECT device has been identified in the alley way beside homes in Innisfree Gardens, Strabane.

Local SDLP MLA Daniel McCrossan said: “The PSNI have begun an evacuation process of some of the surrounding properties and have extended the cordon.

“Huge inconvenience to local residents, many disabled & elderly.”

In a statement, PSNI Chief Inspector Jonathan Hunter said: “We’re working to ensure the safety of members of the public.

“We thank everyone for their patience at this time.”
