DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit arrested a 34 year old man in the Derry area earlier today, Wednesday, August 7, over a murder bid inquiry.
He was detained under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act in relation to the attempted murder of police at the City Walls on 11 July 2018.
During the reckless incident, a dissident republican gunman opened fire on police officers on the walls with an automatic firearm.
The attack came during days of rioting in the city when police came under a barrage of attack from dissident republican gangs hurling scores of petrol bombs.
