The premises at Patrick Street were trashed by thugs and expensive equipment was also stolen during the callous burglary on the charity which assists men with mental health and anger issues along counselling services.
But the charity’s chairman Michael Lynch has said that confidential records of patients were not stolen during the raid.
As a result, volunteers will spend the weekend mending the damage to get it ready for opening again on Monday, August 12.
The charity say on its Facebook page: “It’s a very sad Friday here in Men’s Action Network.
“Our counselling staff turned up this morning to find that not only were we the victim of Burglary stealing thousands of pounds worth of equipment as well as cash but also the wanton destruction and damage caused by the heartless people who targeted our charity.
“Even going as far as to empty a sharps bin out on the floor consisting of used needles.
“These picture were actually taken half way through the cleanup and do not demonstrate the chaos and damage that was done this morning.
“As a result we have had to cancel appointments with clients and our office will remain closed to the clients for the rest of the day while we try to clean up the mess.
“This means that there will be people in need of our help who will not be able to access the service today.“While we are disheartened we are not deterred and will be back up and running for Monday.
“Thanks to the PSNI for their quick response and urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI on the 101 number.”
