POLICE in Derry have thanked the public for their help after a vulnerable male was taken to safety from the Foyle Bridge.
PSNI Foyle say: “Local Policing Team (LPT) 5 wish to express their sincerest thanks to all those members of the public who assisted police with a vulnerable male on the Foyle Bridge this morning.
“Without their help, this morning could have had a whole different outcome.
“This male is now in the safe hands of healthcare professionals.
“We wish him well going forward.”
Only last Friday, a person was rescued from the River Foyle by volunteers from Foyle Search and Rescue after the alarm was raised around 5.30 am.
