The Foyle MLA said: “I welcome the Department of Finance’s decision to release the ‘Dormant Account Fund’ – this move was long overdue.
“Sinn Féin have worked tirelessly for the release of this £16 million fund to provide vital support to the community and voluntary sector.
“This much needed cash boost will help build organisational stability and provide must needed resources for new initiatives and projects.”
