Said Cllr Boyle: “I am pleased that a thorough cleanse and maintenance of the Greenwalk area of Creggan has now been carried out.
“The area had recently fallen into a poor and unkempt state following a period of neglect which had resulted in an overgrowth of shrubbery and accumulation of rubbish.
“After receiving numerous complaints from residents in the surrounding areas regarding the state of this popular route, I liaised with both Council and NIHE to have this work completed urgently.
“I am glad that Greenwalk has had such an overhaul thanks to the efforts of all involved.
“A litter lift has been carried out, as has a substantial de-weeding and spraying of the pathways.
“The area is now looking a lot fresher and I expect, going forward, that regular upkeep will ensure it remains this way,” added the former Mayor Derry and Strabane Council.
