POLICE say officers arrested two female drink drivers on Friday night in Derry city centre.
The arrests were carried out by a local policing teams from Derry and Strabane patrolling the city centre after a tip from a member of the public.
An officer writing on PSNI Foyle’s Facebook page said: “We received a call regarding two intoxicated females driving in the city tonight from a concerned member of the public.
“LPT5 Strand Road AND Strabane (Our colleagues were in the city assisting with the sheer volume of calls) were quick to react, locating both females and the vehicle parked nearby.
“Both blew over the legal limit and have found themselves in Strand Road custody.
“In their eyes a stupid mistake, a short drive, no harm done.
“In the eyes of every victim on the road, of every broken family and every police officer who has had to knock on the door. It is so much more.
“Never drink and drive.
“No matter the circumstances,” the officer concluded.
