DERRY City and Strabane District Council are inviting local community groups to apply for grant aid to support community programmes.
Applications for the Community Grant Aid Programmes for 2020/21 opened this week and include the Community Support Fund, the Community Centre Venue Fund, Good Relations Funding and the Policing and Community Safety Partnership Small Project Support Programme.
Officers will host information sessions across the City and District this week to provide an overview of the programmes and provide groups with an opportunity to gain further information specific to applications and address any queries.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Michaela Boyle, urged local groups to attend this week’s sessions and learn more about how they can avail of the funding.
“The latest Community Grant Aid programmes will offer local groups the funding to make a real difference to people’s lives on the ground through their activities and projects,” she said.
“During my period as Mayor I have been able to witness at first hand the outstanding work that our local groups do in the community to bring people together and enhance their quality of life and I am delighted that a number of funding streams are available to continue that work.
“The workshops this week are an ideal way to learn more about what funding is available and how to apply for it.”
All the programmes are operated on a competitive basis and applications are determined on merit.
The grants are open to any not for profit, constituted groups to deliver a wide range of activities and projects that benefit the City and District.
