POLICE in Derry have praised the actions of a member of the public who alerted officers to suspects smoking cannabis in a car in the city last night.
PSNI Foyle say: “Last night whilst LPT2 were out on mobile patrol, a diligent member of the public reported to Police that two males were seen smoking a suspected drug.
“They then proceeded to drive off in a vehicle.
“This vehicle was then intercepted on Craigavon Bridge and drugs were subsequently located on both males and in the vehicle.
“That’s one arrest for Driving whilst Unfit and Possession of Class B Controlled Drugs and one Community Resolution Notice issued for Possession of Class B Controlled Drugs.
“…I don’t know about you, but I think there is something very rewarding about taking these people off our roads.”
