A SUSPECT is in custody in Derry after bolting across the border with Donegal last night to prevent arrest by pursuing Garda officers.
Police say the driver is being questioned by officers at Strand Road police station for a number of motoring offences.
PSNI Foyle say on its Facebook page: “Members of Foyleside NPT, Moor NPT, Ballyarnett NPT and City Centre NPT have been out and about on Friday evening carrying out anti-crime patrols.
“During the evening we have assisted our colleagues in An Garda Síochána with a vehicle which had failed to stop.
“The vehicle was subsequently located and seized by officers from Moor NPT.
“One person was arrested for motoring offences and enquiries are ongoing.
“We also carried out beat patrols of the city centre and anti-social behaviour patrols in the Galliagh and Ballymagroarty areas.”
