The Met Office alert came into effect at midnight on Sunday, with temperatures dropping to freezing.
The warning lasts until noon on Monday.
There were reports of heavy snow in parts of the north west and slow traffic on the Glenshane Pass.
The Met Office predicted snowfall of up to 10cm on land above 200m and snowfall of up to five cm on areas above 100m.
According to the Met Office warning on Sunday evening: “Sleet and snow [will] likely lead to some travel disruption for a time”.
Heavy rain is expected on Monday afternoon with the possibility of localised flooding, say the Met Office.
