Said Cllr Logue: “I was contacted by a local family who were out socialising in the city centre and were crossing the road to their car parked on William Street when one of the party narrowly avoided falling in a deep hole which has appeared on the pedestrian crossing there.
“This a large hole and is both a danger to people using the crossing and motorists travelling through the area.
“All it takes is for someone to fall and have a nasty injury, a pram with a child in it to topple over or fall into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
“I have contacted DRD Road Service and asked them to prioritise this repair as a matter of urgency.
“And I am pleased to have received word that that remedial work has been undertaken there to make repairs.
“I would like to thank Road Service for their quick response.”
