Karen Mullan said: “This is welcome news that £1.82million pounds of funding over three years has been agreed for the Independent Advice Sector for assisting people with benefit changes as part of the mitigation’s process.
“It will also support and protect fifty front-line jobs and provide funding for the Appeals and Representation service.
“Everyone knows the vital role the Advice Sector play across the North and that they are working flat out to support people.
“Over the next few months their services will be under immense pressures due to the COVID-19 outbreak and its vital they have the funding to help people navigate through the benefit system.”
