THE STORMONT Executive will not publish its road map for lifting the COVID-19 restrictions today, Thursday, May 7
The BBC quotes sources saying that progress has been made on the document by the cross-party executive and it is likely to be published on Monday, May 11.
The sources say there is no major divergence of views between the parties, but that there will no easing of lockdown restrictions announced today.
The Executive met this morning to discuss the issue.
There is hope that restrictions around churches, garden centres and golf clubs will be relaxed next week with social distancing still in place.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will make a live televised statement this Sunday, May 10, at 7 pm on how he plans to ease the restrictions in England from the following day.
But he is expected to say there will be a gradual and phased easing of restrictions in a bit to get the economy moving again.
But in Scotland, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed today that she will be keeping her country’s restrictions in place for a further three weeks up to May 28 as she says she is concerned about the continued spread of the virus.
