THE Department of Health have announced today five more people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
That bringS the total number of Coronavirus deaths to 435.
These figures are one of two sets published in the North of Ireland.
The other are weekly statistics from NI’s Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra) which cover all fatalities in hospital, care homes, hospices and residential addresses where Coronavirus has been recorded on the death certificate.
Nisra statistics released on Friday showed almost 40 per cent of deaths are now recorded in care homes.
Its figures showed there have been 516 Coronavirus-related deaths recorded overall in NI – including 232 in care homes, and four in hospices.
Official statistics on Friday showed that, for a second week, there were more deaths in care homes (71) than hospitals (39).
Overall, there have been 232 care home deaths related to Coronavirus.
New figures from the Department of Health show the number of people with a positive laboratory completed test is now 4,119.
The total number of laboratory completed tests is 38,984.
There are currently 661 suspected Covid-19 patients in hospital, with 4,468 having been discharged.
There are presently 27 people in intensive care with suspected or confirmed Covid-19.
There have been 20 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area to day with around 160 confirmed cases of the deadly viruc.
