FOYLE Search and Rescue has said a big thank you to everyone who contributed to its virtual bucket appeal.
Since the lockdown over the Coronavirus pandemic, FSR has seen its donations plummet by £50,000 which is vital money to keep its services going.
But as a result of the kind donations from the public, the virtual bucket appeal has brought in just over £1,500 which will help maintain the brilliant and brave services of FSR and its volunteers.
FSR says on its Facebook page: “Our Virtual Bucket Appeal 2020, the first of its kind, has officially finished.
“The final donation that we have received from all you amazing people is an astonishing £1505.75 including gift aid.
“We are so proud and thankful as a charity of this beautiful city to have amazing supporters like you all, from everyone within Foyle Search and Rescue thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
“As mentioned earlier in the week we have really missed going door to door and getting to meet all you great people of our city.
“So here’s to next year that we will be knocking at your doors and catching up, hearing how 2020 the year of Covid19 is hopefully behind us and the new normal will be just normal again.
“The success of this year’s Virtual Bucket Appeal is because of you all and your donations.
“You should be proud of the amount raised as it shows our community spirit within the city and that we all are here for each other.”
