Minister Nicola Mallon with a virtual meet with leaders of parties on Derry and Strabane Council today over expansion of pilot scheme to the city

SDLP Group Leader Cllr Martin Reilly welcomed the positive discussion on increasing the walking and cycling provision in the Derry and Strabane district.

He was speaking after a virtual meeting with Derry City and Strabane Council Party Leaders and Minister Nichola Mallon,

Said Cllr Reilly said: “I want to thank Minister Mallon for the positive and proactive engagement she has had with local political leaders and council officers on this important issue.

“COVID-19 has meant we all have to think differently about the future shape of city and town streetscape and this rethinking must also include improving the population’s physical and mental health.

“I look forward to continuing these conversations on how we can better connect citizens along the Foyle riverfront and throughout Derry and Strabane.”
