A council spokeswoman says the waiver, introduced when restrictions around funerals were put in place here, will continue until it decides to lift them.
It’s a move that was agreed on Wednesday at a meeting of council’s Environment and Regeneration Committee.
All Derry City and Strabane District Council owned cemeteries remain open to the public daily from 2.30 pm to 9 pm.
They are not accessible in the mornings to allow for funerals to take place and to facilitate necessary maintenance works.
The public are advised to the guidelines in place regarding social distancing of two metres (6ft) and co-operate with staff at all times.
