THE Department of Health has reported one further COVID-19-related death in the North of Ireland.
It brings its total to 539.
The DoH says the death happened in the last 24 hours.
The Department’s figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths and where a patient has tested positive for the virus.
Earlier, the NI Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra) published its latest figures which includes all fatalities where Covid-19 is mentioned on a death certificate.
By 5 June, it had recorded 779 deaths in total.
The Department of Health said there had been 16 further cases of Coronavirus cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases up to 4,838.
There have been 27 deaths from COVID-19 in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area since the pandemic erupted in March, with over 170 positive cases from the deadly virus within the council boundary.
