THE Department of Health (DoH) has reported two more COVID-19-related deaths in the North of Ireland.
It brings the DoH total to 541.
Both deaths happened and were reported between 10 am on Friday and 10 am today, Saturday, June 13.
The Department of Health figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths and where a patient has tested positive for the virus.
The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is 4,841 – an increase of three more people on Friday’s total.
One person aged under 40 years old has died in the North of Ireland.
A total of 360 people who died were 80 years or older.
Twenty-three people who died were under 60 years old and 156 people were aged 60 to 79 years old.
The total number of men who died here stands at 281, while the number of women is 259.
On Friday, the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra) published its latest figures which includes all fatalities where Covid-19 is mentioned on a death certificate.
By 5 June, it had recorded 779 deaths in total and said these deaths had now fallen for the sixth consecutive week.
More than half of the 779 deaths have taken place in care homes, say Nisra.
There have been a total of 27 deaths from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area since the pandemic broke out in March, with over 170 positive cases of the virus within the council boundary.
