Stevie Ryan and Cat O’Callaghan had planned on flying off to Las Vegas to marry.
But they had to put those plans on hold when the country went into lockdown in March as the deadly Coronavirus swept in.
“When lockdown came, everything got cancelled,” Stevie told BBC Radio Foyle.
Instead they’ll be saying “I do” tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, July 11, at Holy Family Church in Derry.
They’ve somehow organised their wedding in just five days.
“We had our plans and it was exciting to be going away and doing it the way we wanted to do it,” Cat said
“But it’s so exciting now.
“We are one of the lucky ones getting to get married this year.”
She’s not sure how it all came together in just a few days.
“Ask Stevie,” she said, “he is the calm one, he’s the one that sorted everything.”
Once it was confirmed indoor weddings could now take place, Stevie got down to work on his master plan.
“I just went ahead and booked the marquee company, caterers, got help from friends and local business.”
They’ll have their reception in their garden at home.
Fifty people are allowed to attend.
“We had so many plans that were cancelled,” added Stevie.
“So the fact that we can get to do this, I think we are both at the stage now where we are excited and looking forward to doing it.”
We wish the couple well for their wedding day!
