THE Department of Health has reported there have been no new COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours.
This means the number of deaths from the virus remains at 556.
The department’s daily figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths, where a patient had previously tested positive for the virus.
The latest figures on the department’s dashboard show the total number of confirmed positive cases of the virus now stands at 5,790 and 27 people have tested positive in the last seven days.
One patient with COVID-19 is currently being treated in intensive care in a hospital here.
There have been 28 deaths from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area since the pandemice erupted in March.
In total, 212 people within the council’s boundary have tested positive for COVID-19 to date.
