POLICE Derry City and Strabane have urged the public to be on their guard against the latest money scams doing the rounds across the district.
They say: “Scams are not simply an issue for older or vulnerable people within our society; they can happen to anyone regardless of age.
“Here in our District, over the last few weeks, we have received reports from concerned members of the public believing they have arrest warrants outstanding and are being asked to pay up.
“Another regular one is the internet provider who claims they need access to your laptop or computer to fix a problem.
“While it may go against your nature the best thing you can do is hang up, if it’s a phone call, or delete if it’s an email.
“Keep sharing this information so we can spread the word and stop the scammers.”
