NO COVID-19 related deaths in the North of Ireland have been recorded by the Department of Health in the past 24 hours.
That means the number of deaths from the virus remains at 556.
The department’s daily figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths, where a patient had previously tested positive for the virus.
The latest figures on the department’s dashboard show the total number of confirmed positive cases of the virus now stands at 5,834, an increase of 19 from yesterday.
One patient with Covid-19 is currently being treated in intensive care here.
There have been 28 deaths from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane District Cuncil area since March.
There have been a further 8 positive cases from COVID-19 within the council’s boundary, up from four reported on Thursday.
The figure for Derry is the highest for any of the 11 councils across the North of Ireland in the past 24 hours.
Health chiefs have urged the public to maintain a social distance of two metres and wash their hands as much as possible to prevent the spread of the deadly disease.
