A football match in the Republic scheduled for Tuesday night, August 4, has been postponed after a Waterford FC player displayed suspected COVID-19 symptoms.
The club was set to play Sligo Rovers – who beat Derry City on Friday in the first match of the resumed season – in the SSE Airtricity League.
The player will now undergo a Coronavirus test.
SSE Airtricity tweete: “Sligo Rovers v Waterford has been postponed due to Waterford player’s suspected COVID-19 symptoms.
“The player did not train this morning and will now undergo a COVID-19 test.
“The player in question did not play against Shelbourne but did travel with the squad.”
