TEN new COVID-19 infections have been identified in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours the latest report from the Department of Health has revealed.
It’s an increase of two on the eight new infections reported on Tuesday.
The latest stats mean the total number of people to have been infected with COVID-19 here is now 6,006.
There were no new deaths recorded which means the death-toll remains at 556.
The North of Ireland has not recorded an additional COVID-19 death for 23 consecutive days.
There have been 29 deaths from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area since March.
Meanwhile, a sweet shop and an amusement arcade in the seaside town of Newcastle, Co Down have been forced to close after a number of staff tested positive for COVID-19.
It comes a day after a pub in Castlewellan and a Supervalu shop in nearby Newcastle were closed after shop tested positive for the virus.
Health chiefs have urged the public to the public to maintain a social distance of two metres as much as possible, wear a mask in shops or indoor settings and wash hand as regularly as possible to prevent the spread of the virus.
