THE Department of Health has recorded a further Coronoavirus-related death in the North of Ireland.
It brings the Department’s total number of deaths to 559.
There were a further 41 recorded positive cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
According to the DoH’s dashboard, one of those positive cases was in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
There have been nine positive cases within the council boundary in the last seven days, bringing its total to 242.
Since the pandemic erupted in March this year, a total of 29 people have died from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
Of the 41 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, 14 of those were within the Belfast City Council area, nine in Mid and East Antrim, and six in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Council area.
Public health chiefs continue to urge the public to maintain a social distance of up to two metres as much as possible, wash hands regularly and as often as possible and wear face coverings in shops and indoor settings to stop the spread of the deadly virus.
