THE security alert in the Lecky Road area of Derry ended overnight.
Army Technical Officers examined a suspicious object discovered in the area and have declared it to be nothing untoward.
All roads in the area later reopened to traffic.
There had been a spate of alerts across the North of Ireland on Monday which were declared as either hoax devices or
nothing untoward.
It came in the wake of six people – four men and two women – who appeared in court in Belfast on IRA terror offences linked to a bugging operation by MI5.
