The Lilywhites were due to travel to the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium next Friday night.
A new date for the match has yet to be confirmed.
Dundalk defender Darragh Leahy will link up with the Republic of Ireland U21s for a training camp in Belfast from Monday to Thursday.
The game between Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians fixed for Saturday, September 5, will not be postponed however, despite the presence of players from both teams in that training camp.
Neil Farrugia and Liam Scales are part of Jim Crawford’s plans, while Bohemians also have Danny Grant and Danny Mandroiu involved.
As a result of the Derry-Dundalk postponement, the Waterford v St Patrick’s Athletic fixture next Friday will now kick-off at 7.45 pm rather than 5.45 pm and will be live on WatchLOI.
